Four Generations One Enduring Legacy.
Durgamba Origins is a 100-acre coffee estate, 3200 feet above sea level, nestled in the hills of Chikkamagaluru, grown with care across four generations, and now carried forward by four sisters into the world.
Rooted in land & legacy
Durgamba Origins is more than a coffee estate, it is a story of legacy shaped across four generations, where each chapter has built upon the last. Our journey began with our great-grandfather, who acquired this land in the hills of Chikkamagaluru and laid the foundation of what we are today. That land carried meaning beyond cultivation: it was home to a Durga temple, a symbol of strength, protection, and feminine power, whose presence became deeply intertwined with the identity of the estate itself.
From our grandparents, who nurtured the estate into a thriving legacy, to the third generation of daughters who expanded beyond coffee and shaped it for the future, each generation chose to take ownership in their own way. Today, Durgamba Origins enters its next chapter. A fourth generation, four sisters from diverse backgrounds, come together to take this legacy forward: refining processes, strengthening quality, and bringing Indian coffee, in its truest form, to a global stage.

What the land gives us
Arabica
We grow three Arabica varietals, Chandragiri, SL9 and SL795, each expressing the subtle character of our high-altitude estate. Expect a cup that is bright and clean, with floral top notes and a lingering sweetness.
Robusta
Our Robusta is grown in the shade of the estate's older trees, yielding a bold, full-bodied cup with deep earthy notes and a rich, lasting finish. A coffee of character and strength.
Liberica
One of the rarest species grown in India, our Liberica produces large, asymmetric beans with a distinctive woody, smoky profile and an unexpected floral quality. A true curiosity for the discerning palate.
Our Process
Simple, Precise, Traditional
Cultivation
Coffee is grown across 100 acres at 3200 ft above sea level in the Chikkamagaluru hills, a region renowned for producing some of India's finest estate coffees.
Selective Harvest
Only fully ripe red cherries are hand-picked at harvest, ensuring the quality and sweetness of the fruit is preserved before processing begins.
Washed Process
Cherries are pulped to remove the husk, then passed through an aqua washer to remove mucilage before being laid out to dry, producing a clean, bright cup.
Natural Process
Ripe red cherries are dried whole in the sun, allowing the fruit to slowly impart its sweetness and complexity to the bean beneath.

Shade-Grown Cultivation
Our coffees grow beneath a natural canopy of Silver Oak, Pink Cedar and Bahera, alongside Mango, Orange, Avocado and Jackfruit trees. This layered ecosystem slows the development of the coffee cherry, allowing sugars and complexity to build gradually, and keeps the land alive with biodiversity that no monoculture can replicate.

Beyond Coffee
The estate grows more than coffee. Pepper, arecanut, avocado and soap nut grow alongside our coffee plants, a diverse, living landscape that has sustained the estate and its people for generations.

Indian Coffee, Globally
Our vision is to take what has been grown with care and share it with the world, bringing Indian coffee, in its truest form, to a global stage. Chikkamagaluru deserves a place in the world's finest cups.
